Materials Special Testing and Treatment

Materials Special Testing and Treatment LLC was founded with a goal to fill a niche in special non-standard testing (primarily mechanical) of materials and products. Currently, other testing facilities offer testing services of material coupons in accordance with a wide variety of standards (usually ASTM Standards). However, real products are often used in conditions different from those of standard tests and the appropriate testing is more complex. We will discuss your testing needs in detail with you, develop a step-by-step plan of what to test, how to test it, and what results should be expected. We will design and build all the necessary unique fixtures and conduct the tests.       In addition to specially developed tests, we can conduct usual tests of devices, long-term fatigue and crack propagation tests, and wear tests, as well as some standard tests, which are overall rarely carried out (such as ASTM D572, ASTM D3632, etc.). We have a wide variety of universal testing equipment and in-house custom-made testers and fixtures. We have extensive experience in developing and performing unique test procedures. We can perform long-term fatigue tests on 24/7 schedules to meet the response time requirements of our customers.       MSTT has assembled a network companies with a wide range of complementary analytical capabilities. These contacts allow us to use a comprehensive approach to solving different problems. For example, to study the wear resistance of materials, we can develop a pin-on-disk test in accordance with your specifications (contact pressure, sliding speed, environment media, and temperature). We will use precise analytical balances and an optical non-contact profilometer to evaluate wear tracks. We can use Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) to examine the size of wear debris and X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) to determine the elemental and chemical nature of the wear debris.       We would also be delighted to discuss with you the potential application of our powerful materials surface treatment technologies. These include Diamond-Like Carbon coating (DLC), Ion Implantation and our patented processes of Sequential Ion Implantation and Deposition (U.S. patents 6,083,567, 6,209,481, and 6,280,844). |
